The New Year is often a time when we resolve to change ourselves. But it's important to take things at a steady pace

Joining a gym, going daily until your muscles scream, then lapsing into inactivity isn't a recipe for success

The end of the Old Year is a time for casting off unhelpful habits and activities. My back care course shows how you can gain by doing less. I'm not suggesting you spend all day lying on the sofa! Instead you can learn to 'think in activity'. So if, for example, you're going to lift a weight, you consider how this can be done as safely and efficiently as possible. This usually means less interference from yourself! If you're intrigued, come to the course or sign up for a taster lesson. If you're not in the Lewes area, go to STAT for a list of teachers.

9.30-10.30 a.m. Wednesdays 10, 17, 24, 31 January 2018. £40 for the course. Maximum 6 in group. Lewes Nevill, free street parking.
